Sophienia is a young, family-run makeup brush brand.
We do not have a large team behind us. Most days, it is simply the two of us – working with the materials, checking brushes, preparing orders, taking photos, answering questions, and slowly building Sophienia one order at a time.
Long before Sophienia had a website or a name of its own, we had already spent years around brush materials and brushmaking.
Eventually, we wanted to try building something of our own.
Not something made to feel distant or larger than it really is. We simply wanted to take something we know and care about, make it well, and offer it directly to people around the world who might enjoy using it.
We are still a young brand, and we do not have the resources of a large beauty company.
Instead of producing large quantities of finished brushes and filling a warehouse, we work in small batches, with many brushes prepared after an order is placed.
It may take a little longer, but it lets us put more of our resources into the materials and the brushes themselves.
We would rather make carefully, learn as we go, and grow slowly.
A makeup brush passes through many small steps before it is finished – selecting and sorting the hair, shaping the brush head, assembling it, and checking the final brush.
None of these steps is particularly dramatic.
But after years of working with brushes, we have learned that how a brush feels and performs often comes down to these small details.
So we still take the time to pay attention to them.
Sophienia is still young.
We want to put our brushes into the hands of people in more places, hear what they actually think after using them, and learn from that feedback.
When something can be better, we want to improve it.
For now, what we want to do is simple: make brushes with care, send them to people who will actually use them, and listen to what they have to say.
