The compact flat head puts a concentrated patch of color on the lid instead of spreading it across the whole eye.
It works nicely for the inner half of my lid where a larger packing brush gets in the way.
The hairs move together when I press them into the lid and then release color gradually.
The plain packaging did not tell me much, but the small head makes its purpose obvious in use.
It is better for deliberate placement than for a fast wash of color, which is how I end up using it.
